Cockney Rhyming Slang
This poster here is from one of my latest projects at Uni. The project is about Britishness and we could choose any element we wanted and visiually represent it. I chose the East End Cockney Rhyming Slang theme. In my research I found out that the idea of the language was to ‘obscure its original meaning’. I played on the fact quite a bit and based my ideas around it. I thoughts behind my design were that the text was placed in this dynamic way, to represent its punchy and vibrant style. There are many diferent layers and elements to build up on which convey the obscurity and depth of the language. In the distant background are the original translations but are literally obscured by the cockney. I created this piece in Photos
Leake St. Filming
Here are a few pictures I took while I was recently at Leake Street in London. I was down here helping a fellow AUCB Film Production student shoot a street art film. She pretty much left me to paint what I wanted, the 5 minute documentary is filmed in one take and shows the camera walking through the tunnel admiring all the other graffiti and then focusing on my for a minute or so.
